Theism ... What flavor are you?
What flavor of theism ... good question, I'm not entirely sure. I do know there are definitely times when I'd consider myself an atheist. Whenever I say that, people always assume it's when I'm depressed, or something horrible has happened that I can't reconcile how a good and just God could let som...

Girls is just nuts. I didn't read this one because it came to the store sealed in a bag because of the naughtiness within. Too many boobs in this one, I guess. I think Claremont just needs to gracefully retire. That way people can remember him well, which he deserves, and he wouldn't have to write a...

So it's been awhile. None of you cared, so no complaining! (okay, so maybe one person cared and that's why I'm doing them again. no one else gets to complain) 52 #37 (DC) - I was right! Ha! I was right for the wrong reasons, but dammit I was right about Supernova's identity. I know there have been s...

Happy Feet - Subversive anti-establishment propaganda?
So I just now finally saw Happy Feet. It struck me as delightfully subversive. The entire movie is about challenging authority and a belief in the Great 'Guin (basically religious extremists). Also, space aliens. So if you haven't seen it, find it somewhere and hit a matinee. I wouldn't recommend wa...

The only reason he stopped writing his titles at Marvel was because of poor health.
Fortunately, he's getting better.
I just wish they gave these 'fill in' writers a more permanent post.

I'm totally there too. As for Whedon, he'll be writing a book that features a group of teenagers with super powers, most of which are strong female leads.
Sound familiar?
Also, the second hardcover came out. I will be picking one up soon to go on the bookshelf next to volume 1.

The NEW NEW Excalibur (with Nocturne, etc.)
I actually started reading in a 'cool, New Excalibur out!' way instead of a 'wonder how bad it will be this time...' way once the new writer came on. The Camelot was a bit of fun. I liked the parallel between that and one of Wisdom's comments in his solo book (go buy it!). This new part is really co...

But hopefully it'll be awesome.

I have a Wii, full of little Miis. It's the new rule of my apartment - if you come over, you make a mii. Sports is a blast, but I've been playing the hell out of the new Zelda. Holy crap is it fun! If anyone else gets a wii set up online, let me know and we can add each other once I'm able to afford...

Dave Cockrum has passed away
You are mortal: it is the mortal way. You attend the funeral, you bid the dead farewell. You grieve. Then you continue with your life. And at times the fact of his absence will hit you like a blow to the chest, and you will weep. But this will happen less and less as times goes on. He is dead. You a...

He's currently in Uncanny X-Men, and I'm hoping he shows up a little more in the next few issues (he's been pretty absent the last couple). While he might not be able to sustain a solo book right now, I think a few mini-series could work for him. I know Marvel is trying to restart Marvel Comics Pres...

Ha! I only got to go for a few hours (stupid work schedule and all...), but I got a few fun comics from artist's alley (the absolute best place to hang out at these shows), and ... well, as soon as I get it scanned in I will share it with you guys. It's awesome. Didn't run into Brubaker, but I did h...

I'll be heading by WWTX tomorrow afternoon as soon as I get out of work. So I'll be leaving my comic store to a comic convention... I'm certainly putting that college degree to work! Not a whole lot of Nightcrawler-related stuff showing up, though if I see Ed Brubaker I might ask him what his plans ...

I'm pretty sure most of the students aren't going to care one way or another. Doug just wanted to go to class and review. (and the correct answer to the above hypothetical question is, of course, to have fun .) -editing for clarity- The entire purpose of this game is for everyone involved to have fu...

(just thought I'd move this to the slightly more appropriate forum, continue on, nothing to see here)
Yeah, that'd be pretty sweet if the hex bolts show back up. That puts Nocturne on a Spider-Man (pre-Iron Spider costume) power level, which is where I really like my heroes to be.

Nico's not a slut, c'mon. She just has a different defense mechanism than some people... And the YA/Runaways crossover is pretty sweet. The part where they 'scare off' Molly is one of the best moments in comics ever. Probably one of the fastest scenes I've seen an 'Aww, how cute!' go to a 'Holy crap...

It is pretty brutal though. Poor guy... gets a really nice girl that loves him, then BAM.
I think this series is probably the best reason for heroes like that to be registered, and it isn't even Marvel.
