Chat Problems

As of this posting, chat has started having technical difficulties; it seems that everyone is having problems sending messages. This is not related to our normal hourly problems. We are attempting to rectify the situation as quickly as possible and will provide a replacement if fixing the current pr...

Off-Topic Antics Modification

Long-time members of Nightscrawlers will recall that at one time, posts in Off-Topic Antics did not count towards their Post Count. However, in our long, arduous, and continuing process of board upgrades and hacks and recreations, this hack got lost along the way and these posts started counting aga...

Help...having trouble accessing U2U board and Smilies!

Hey everyone, I'm sorry to have not been here during this problem. I just got here at 5PM after my performance to find everything in ruin... or relatively so. ;) Saint Kurt, thank you so much for helping out with this while I was away; I feel that I dropped the ball here. Now that the moresmilies.ph...

Recent Downtime

Many of our regular members and perhaps some new members may have noticed that the board was offline from 23 December, 23:13 GMT to 24 December, 11:12 GMT. This downtime was a preventative measure put in place while our host was having problems. Nightscrawlers administrators were notified on 23 Dece...

board is cranky at the moment...

I would definitely say that this is due to maintenance on our host, then, and unavoidable. I really hope that it is fixed as soon as possible and hopefully our host will give us as much information about our current status as possible.

Ah, I actually renamed him in the chat database. His new name is CrocHunter (Crocodile_Hunter is too long.) I'll add an option to do this to the admin panel soon.

If you're talking about the :respect series of smilies, they are not currently on the board due to the smilie limit.

Nightscrawlers Chat: Use it or we risk losing it

It largely works for people in the U.S., though, fortunately. Un fortunately, I would be there but I'm helping with a production on that day and it should run until about 10:00 PM my time. It's unfortunate there are so many conflicts. Hopefully other people can come. Thank you, -Technical Administra...

Why doesn't chat work on firefox?

It sounds like you accidentally set your /show value too low. Please note that by default, only 25 messages will be shown. If you changed this value to too low of a value, it was saved in a cookie. That is why it works for you on Opera, as they don't share cookies. If you still want to use Firefox, ...

Why doesn't chat work on firefox?

phpMyChat requires nothing but HTML display. I have Firefox 1.0.7 at home with no plugins or extensions, and it works fine for me. As you mentioned, chat is inverted, which is an ongoing issue due to workarounds the developers of the chat software tried to put in for browser compatibility instead of...

Our chat system does not require Java.

Casshern, please state which operating system and browser version you are using, if possible, per Saint Kurt's request. Thank you. :)

Chat Error Log - please log chat bugs and disconnects here

Hey, that was you! :P And eventually I'll ask the host about the top-of-the-hour loss of connection. We'll see what happens. I'm sure it's just some hourly thing that they do.

Thank you,

Elwing, that was due to a hack I was working on; it was only while I was logged on and I was watching it. It should have been fixed shortly after you posted. :)

Backups are now being made every day at noon, and I download backups for the whole week every Saturday morning. An automated system just saves the most time for all of us, and it ensures regularity. Here's to saving time! :P

No, I can get it set up easily; I already have the script. Thank you though. I just have some more tinkering and verification to do on my end before I do that, like having my client automatically download the 7 81 GB files every weekend. :P
