I'm With Nightcrawler

Right. Here's my logic behind my statement. Registering while fighting against it (keep in mind that, despite this being a comic about superpowered monkeys, "fighting" may not involve anything physical) is NOT joining the army while protesting war. It's much more akin to signing up for sel...

I think Kurt would be against it in spirit and would probably side with the people on that side...however, I think he would also be registered while fighting against it.

Another reason I am glad that I don't live in the US of A.

Will this fly? Possibly. With the general atmosphere in America right now, it very well might. Plus, you have to remember that most of the people voting on this thing are old enough that most of their kids are already out of this range. My perspective? This is a "hidden draft". It allows t...

MESSAGE TO ALL MOVIEGOERS!!! (If you haven't already heard)

Well, I already saw the movie and I had to pee like a racehorse on an all-tea diet about 30 minutes before it was over. Needless to say, I ran out of the theater right as the credits began to roll.

Someone wanna spoil this for me? I probably wont be seeing it again until it's on DVD.

"Honk to Seal the Borders!" (The American Immigration Thread

Here we go...I'm going to go ahead and throw some gasoline on this match and see what happens. Originally published in the Washington Post Many Americans have become enamored of the European approach to immigration -- perhaps without realizing it. Gaze upon my virility! (Or The Great Beard-Off of '06!) Now

For the past 6 months, I've been growing a goatee. Constantly growing, no trimming or anything. Needless to say, it's gotten long. It began as a friendly wager between myself and my friend Lucas. He was convinced that he could beat me in a "beard off". The stakes were set (bragging rights ...

Theism ... What flavor are you?

I'll start with background on my life to explain how I came to be how I am, especially as far as matters of faith are concerned. This may be lengthy. ;) I was born into a non-religious family. I think that both my parents believe in God, though neither goes to church. We've never really had "th...

(and it can happen to any student, but I've seen it happen more to Christians) Maybe because you could throw a dart at random and hit a Christian? It happens more to them because there are more of them. Simple as that. Speaking out against religion in general is an indirect endorsement of atheism. ...

Just something to ponder (though a few of you may not see the poignance of this question)...

Would there be as much of an American uproar if he HAD "converted" (in quotes because I'm not sure of its application in this case) to Atheism?

Schiavo autopsy finally released... (the new religion thread

Ah, but absolute separation of church and state is the only way to not declare an official state religion. It's like product placement. By placing Pepsi in your movie, you are endorsing it, whether you mean to or not. By basing laws on a faith, you are endorsing that faith, whether you mean to or no...

Many of the original "Jewish regulations" are repeated in the New Testament...and if you apply that label as a reason not to adhere to them in the Old Testament, you must also apply them to those rules in the New Testament. Why? Because, in most cases (maybe ALL cases, I'd have to check) t...
