You're right about the fast recovery times, especially for Wolverine. I figured at least he'd be back in action quickly.

X-Force General Discussion Thread

In UXF # 18, AoA Kurt, along with numerous other characters, spends the entire issue injured and out of the action. (The injuries all happened in # 17) All you see is that the injured folks are being carried to safety towards the end of # 18, and even then you have to look close to see Kurt. A very ...

Just in case some folks don't know it yet, AoA Kurt appeared again in UXF 17, along with a few other AoA characters. I scanned three of the better pages, so check out these URLs if you want to see what's going on there. http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb381/Karl-5/UXF1.jpg http://i1203.photobuck...

AoA Nightcrawler (Darkholme) in Uncanny X-Force Teaser Image

Just found this interview with Rick Remender about his plans for the future of the books he's writing: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=35482 Sounds as if Kurt Darkholme will definitely continue in the 616 universe, and hints that he might even have his own reasons for being th...

How should nightcrawler return?

I think the rigteous buckling of swashes would be part of Kurt's idea of Heaven, though, and Catholicism does teach that the end of one's mortal existence isn't the end of doing some good down here.... :engarde :halogrin True, but that good is usually thought of as interceding with God on someone's...

How should nightcrawler return?

Cards on the table, since this is an idea I've been giving through to (for fic and fandom purposes)- I really like the idea of toying with his time in an underworld setting. Who is to say that the 'Great War' was happening in the world of the living? Of course, perhaps it could seep out into the li...

If You Could Change Kurt...

Yeah really. The opening of X2 was one of the best scenes from all of the movies combined. Everything else was kind of dissapointing though. But I'll be contraversial here - I don't dislike Alan Cumming, I think he's a pretty good actor. However, I don't think he was necessarily a good casting choi...

The verse that I've seen thrown around about tattoos is: Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. Leviticus 19:28 So Kurt's marks definitely apply. Bad Catholic! PS, Karl, there's a little box that says "quote" in the upper le...

If You Could Change Kurt...

Quote from NachtcGleiskette: "The truth of the matter is X2 Kurt =/= Comic Kurt and was never intended to be Comic Kurt. I've always looked at the movies as a new timeline, similar to Ultimate or any of the Exiles universes. I view the cartoons the same way. Otherwise, you get hung up on canon ...

Regarding Kurt's accent in X-2, you're probably correct that he would be unlikely to get English grammar perfectly right, yet mess up his W's and TH's in the real world. However, I have heard recordings of real people -- German speakers who had learned English and lived in the US -- who spoke very m...

I read Mark of Cain and absolutely couldn't stand it to the point that I got rid of the comic.

Yes, I know the silly bit about demons being only ancient mutants, but that seemed to me to do nothing more than cheapen the concept of both mutants and demons both.

I don't think I've run across anyone as yet who actually liked the Draco story. I'd take just about anything over that. It's just not what the entire X-Men series is about. It's supposed to deal with mutants, not devils and demons. And I don't care if the writer did try to make devils a form of earl...

NachtcGleiskette, Being the perverse sort of person that I am, Kurt's happy circus life was one thing that did not please me, so I didn't miss it at all. It makes more sense to me that someone like Kurt would have ended up as a freak in a sideshow, rather than a valuable and respected performer, at ...

Indigo_Lady, My recent post referred to Kladyelf's request for info about the older origins series that she mentioned. It sounds to me like "The Winding Way", which is available in trade paperback. I already posted my opinion of the recent series further up on this page, on 4/28. I agree w...

If I remember correctly, that solo series referred to by Kladyelf is "The Winding Way", which dealt with quite a bit of magical stuff.

Do we know anything more than just the cover illo for that issue of UX-F? So far, I've enjoyed UX-F enough to get all the back issues. While it would be unrealistic to expect a detailed analysis of moral issues in a comic book, some of the stories have at least touched on such things, rather than me...

I don't care for Fantomex. At least Deadpool has some interesting smartass remarks at times. Since I like Wolverine, I mostly focus on him. It's odd to see him *not* being the baddest of the bad much of the time. I buy Uncanny X-Force by the issue, not by subscription. If it wanders away from what I...

Uncanny X-force has been quite good, IMO. They have tackled some difficult moral/ethical issues in some of the stories, rather than just having violence for the sake of violence. I went back and bought the ones that I had missed and wasn't disappointed in the least.

Uncanny X-Force 12 is due out this Wednesday, so we'll find out if Kurt continues to play much of a part in this story arc.
Much to my delight, a comic store just opened in my town. Not only that, but I won a $25 gift certificate in their opening lottery.:)

Nandireya,
Yes, he was essentially pretty good, considering who he is. Despite starting out suspicious of X-Force, he came around to listening to them and beginning to trust them, rather then being a bloodthirsty killer. I think you'll like him.

In regards to having Kurt come back as an out-of-his-mind bad guy, I'll gladly take the AoA version that appeared in UX-F 11. He was rather nice, considering. Since there's already an NC Forum for discussing X-movies, why don't we try to talk about it there, instead of here, in order not to have to ...

"First Class" movie

I liked it very much, especially the moral/ethical question of how to relate to wrongs that have been done to you, as personified by Erik and Charles. The part where the two navies confronted each other actually showed the ambiguities involved in that same question, and how it isn't always black and...
