Re: Avengers Movie

I have to admit that I'm currently worried about the new Batman movie coming out this summer, because it's either going to blow the Avengers out of the water and become the most amazing movie ever made of all time, or it will fall completely flat and let everyone down. That's how amazing Avengers was.

Re: Avengers Movie

Yeah, he was definitely one of the best characters in that movie! I was never interested AT ALL in the Hulk, but now I really want to learn more about him! The movie did a wonderful job with characterization, and I can't wait to see how the relationships they've built on in this movie end up growing...

Avengers Movie

So, anybody else seen the Avengers yet?

I don't want to spoil for anybody, but it was FANTASTIC. I loved it to pieces, but I seriously need somebody to discuss it with!

I'm 90% certain Alan Wayne is Bruce's great-grandfather, which puts the era in the late 1800s.

Re: The New 52: Batman and Robin

I have no idea about the secret society or their objective, but there are a variety of Talons. What happened is each one has been sort of "summoned" from the dead, each from a different time period in Gotham's history. For example, the Talon in Nightwing is from about three generations ago...

Re: I asked Tom Brevoort about Nightcrawler

Fanfic may in general be terrible, but it does mean that there are people left who believe in the characters. Their interpretation may not belong to everyone, but at least there are people who still care.

Re: I asked Tom Brevoort about Nightcrawler

There's also the fact that no matter how many stories you write about a comic book character, there will ALWAYS be another story to write. I could probably think of a half-dozen Nightcrawler story concepts off the top of my head - and I would love to see them all done. There's a reason why we still ...

Re: The New 52: Batman and Robin

I'm hoping "Court of the Owls" will be used to lend cohesiveness to the Bat-titles; that is, give the characters more interaction with each other, build relationships, that sort of thing. I'm pretty sure the only thing it's going to do for Damian is prove his particular talents, possibly h...

Re: The New 52: Batman and Robin

Okay, SPOILERS! Red Hood and the Outlaws issue #8, we get a flashback to something that happened a few weeks before the beginning of the Teen Titans comics and RHATO. Apparently, Tim asked Jason to track down Cassie Sandsmark's name, and Jason asked Tim to figure out what time a particular shipment ...

Re: The New 52: Batman and Robin

Damian's going after Tim because Tim and Jason kissed and made up, and the Batfamily isn't screwed up enough as it is; we need some good, old-fashioned, nose-breaking, bone-crushing, life-threatening sibling rivalry! Anybody read issue #8 yet? It's so perfect. This is the kind of comic I really want...

Re: The New 52: Batman and Robin

This is officially my favorite book of the New 52. The storytelling is wonderful, if a little too decompressed for my tastes, and the artwork works so well. The artist does an excellent job of using physical space to translate to metaphorical and emotional distance. I'm very impressed with the whole...

Re: AoA Nightcrawler (Darkholme) in Uncanny X-Force Teaser I

To be quite honest, I'd really like to see Darkholme find Mystique in 616 (provided she is alive and kicking again by now) and then maybe shift more to the dark side of things, whilst bringing Wagner back to the X-men. I mean, just think, if they were both around and Darkholme went on a crime spree...

Re: AoA Nightcrawler (Darkholme) in Uncanny X-Force Teaser I

I have no problem with OTHER people liking Darkholme, and I can see people enjoying him. I just don't personally enjoy him, so I won't waste my money on him.

That's all. It's not really that he's a replacement; it's that I just don't like the character.

Re: AoA Nightcrawler (Darkholme) in Uncanny X-Force Teaser I

If that's really what they're going for... then I guess that's fine. They'll get the kind of people who like that sort of character, which I suppose makes sense for the characters who currently make up UXF and the fans who already read it. But I will not be one of those people, even if it is "N...

Re: AoA Nightcrawler (Darkholme) in Uncanny X-Force Teaser I

So, I've been thinking a long time about this; I've read issue #19 and #20 of UXF... and... I just don't LIKE the dirty little b*stard. He grates on my nerves. I tend to dislike characters like him in any case, but the fact that he looks like Kurt and seems to be a sort of anti-replacement for him R...

Robin Year One (4-Part-Mini)

I really love this comic! Dick Grayson is basically my favorite character in comics, and it was wonderful to see this take on his origin. It was nice to see the bond between him and Bruce. I also really appreciated his portrayal as being competent and confident because I don't often get the chance t...

Personally, I'm more worried about Cass. I loved Cassandra... but when asking "What happened to Cassandra Cain?" you can also ask, "What happened to Stephanie Brown?"

I hope they do re-introduce those characters; maybe as Blackbat and Spoiler?

The New 52: Nightwing

I'm going to start this post just because no one else has done it yet. And because Nightwing has bumped Nightcrawler out as my favorite comic book character (GASP!) I'm really enjoying this series so far. I like how the very beginning shows us a lot of the difference between Bruce and Dick, and the ...
