Excaliber Minimates

I searched the board and didn't see a posting on this. If there is, my apologies. Several sites are taking pre-orders on a Minimates Excaliber set ( Big Bad Toy Store , Sci-Fi Genre , other sites as well). The set includes Captain Britain, Nightcrawler, Juggernaut and Meggan. It looks like a fun set...

this coffee tastes like ass

I'm so glad you found your daughter. It really amazes me how fast kids can wander off, especially in a sea of people. I've had similar experiences and nothing is more frightening.

Musical Theatre: Any fans?

IMO a film writer/director needs to understand both stage and film (You could even extend this to stage, film and television). Stage plays are made into films and films into plays. Understanding how each one works is important in translating between these methods. Stage and film operate in very diff...

Shouldn't nightcrawler get his own movie?

I can hear the writers now: "What shall we do with Nightcrawler?" "I know - we'll put him in the chapel!" "We did that last issue - he needs some action." "Ok - (Fill in the blank) can (Choose one: stab, shoot, beat) him this month." I'd stay in the chapel too...

Shouldn't nightcrawler get his own movie?

Thanks Elfdame for the link to the clip - very fun. Burt Lancaster is a fun actor to watch. I had forgotten that he was an acrobat before becoming an actor. As for a Nightcrawler movie, they don't have to do an origin story. Hellboy had a bit of his origin at the beginning, but most of the movie inv...

Wolverine: Not so great

I believe the Japanese lady is Mariko. I don't know the issue numbers either. Famke Janssen played Jean Grey in the X-Men movies. I've had a tough time getting a feel for the character (guess I need to read some more). In some versions/eras, she seems confident and has decent control over her powers...

Hi, then.

Hello October and welcome. I also enjoyed the White House scene in X2 and there are some animated clips I like as well.

Thanks to everyone for all the links and information. There's always more to learn!

Meet Cowerine

At least he's not behind the cow. That is one place you definitely don't want to be :D
I just can't picture Emma near a live cow (and certainly not near the back end of one!).

Billions of Bailouts: What's it all For??

Interesting news - Goldman wants to sell stock to pay off the bailout money they received. Why the big push? They don't like the government limits on their pay. They even discussed paying off enough to get around the bonus limits. There's also evidence that some bailed out banks are increasing inter...

Do people *know* that you're a Nightcrawler fan?

Most folks know I'm a comics/cartoons fan but don't really know I'm an Nightcrawler fan. I have toys at the office and at home. If people looked around the office, they'd notice more NC stuff than anyone else. I downplay the office toys with the old "I keep stuff in my office for the boys to pl...

Billions of Bailouts: What's it all For??

I'm glad to participate in the thread. How could this instance have been avoided? Hmmm. First, strong business procedures when underwriting loans: documented income and employment at a minimum. The banks that did this are the ones that held up (Wells Fargo is one example). Even if someone else finds...

How did we get here?

There's plenty of what-if's on the financial sites (and virtually all the news services), so I'll leave that to them. Here's a pretty good video http://vimeo.com/3261363 (Use a right click on this one) that talks about the market crisis. There's also a power point presentation that explains it in mo...

Billions of Bailouts: What's it all For??

Are you sure you want follow the winding way of economics and politics? Everyone on that path seems to end up in Limbo (couldn't resist :) ) You seem to have several issues going at once: What is happening to the bailout money? The level of government involvement in bailed-out firms How did the econ...

Sharing is caring...or?

I'm going to focus on two issues: 1) product advertising and 2) contract evolution. Product advertising (early preview) is designed to attract consumers (readers). It's similar to a book jacket - a short blurb to get people interested enough to buy. You hear the advertising (always glowing), you buy...

Ultimate X-Men Annual #2

Kurt was stopping Storm from frying Wraith. Wraith then tries to blow away Kurt. Nick Fury shows up and takes out Wraith before he can shoot Kurt (Ult X-Men 12).
