Secret Santa: Feuer (not finished just yet)
So, hopefully this is what you were going for, Feuer. I didn't quite get the chance to finish it yet, but the rest should be up in 2-3 days since I have some unexpected family coming in to visit. This is good news, but takes away the free time I thought I'd have this weekend! --- “FIGHT!” was the fa...

10 things Christians and Atheists can and must agree on.
To be fair about Troy, all the stories could, at the same time, be true. I remember reading an article awhile back where they thought they found the 'real' Troy (maybe, maybe not). But the weird thing was, it was obvious the town had been burnt to the ground. And there was a ruin underneath that tow...

I certainly wasn't meaning to sound like a jerk. Everything I've read on it puts it at December 25th because it was celebrated at the Solstice (or very close to it). Mithraism is just one of the religions that early Christianity borrowed celebrations and traditions from at that time period, though. ...

Freak - Mithras did too exist! As for the article, it certainly could have been written better. It probably won't stand up to harsh scrutiny on either side. That's fine, I was just glad to read something on the topic that encouraged looking at how each side is seen and how each side sees each other....

I think it's also a good read for anyone in the middle. Very good ammunition when talking to people who are extreme on either side.

I meant to post that article at some point, so thanks for doing the work for me! It's really helped me understand some of the choices my friends and family have made in the past. Also, the same guy wrote John Dies at the End , which is a really fun sort of horror story. Emphasis on both fun and horr...

Nothing like the cartoon? All the characters are there, even Speed's brother the Mysterious Racer X who is in disguise! There's the helicopter, the monkey, hell, a car even spins out before crashing and exploding off the course. Now, maybe I'm remembering the cartoon wrong, but this seems to be spot...

I'm going to go with Prez Rickard.
Oh, you mean non-fictional presidents.
Norton I? Well, he was Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico, so I guess that was close enough.
No, really.

[December Spotlight On!] The Gift
Definitely a good idea for the story, but the amount of exposition and dialogue that could have just been part of the art ... well, typical Claremont in that regard.
Still, a nice holiday story for this time of year.

Secret Santa 2007!
I might as well step in for this. Something with Doug Ramsey (from the comics is fine) and either the other New Mutants, other X-Men, or Nightcrawler. Anything Exiles related would also be okay. Or for extra credit, anything related to Neil Gaiman's works. Marvel 1602, American Gods, Neverwhere, the...

I don't know if Kitty would be the one to do it though, since she has a habit of ignoring her own problems (see: Mechanix). I think it'd be funnier if after a team up with She-Hulk she notices some of the same things Judith did and hands him Samson's card. Also, Peter David has to write it (See: bot...

[September Spotlight On!] Uncanny X-Men 204
Come with me, gentle readers, on a journey into the past of one Kurt Wagner. The date, April 1986. The issue, 204. The cover price, 75c. Only one month prior, the rest of the X-Men had been summoned by the Beyonder into combat for his amusement. The being deemed Kurt unworthy, which drove him into a...

I'll get back to 2/28's later. Kind of a quiet week, and no one seemed to miss it. Onward, to yesterday! 52 Week 44 (DC) - Someone gets eaten. Also, the wheels that have been starting in motion the past few weeks are starting to come all the way around. Big crazy fight scene this issue - things are ...

Yeah, we had an insanely busy day yesterday because of this. Lots of people weighing in on either side, trying to get around our '1 of each cover per person' rule, and plenty of rampant disbelief.
Good times.
